Cedar, a European kitchen and home appliance company specializing in products like hob protector mats, blenders, and more. The primary goal was to design a logo and visual language that resonates with both technology lovers and those seeking warmth in their home products.
The Cedar brand identity centers on a whimsical yet bold primary logo that feels both approachable and refined. The sans-serif typeface includes a unique “A” in “Cedar,” rotated to resemble a cedar tree, subtly emphasizing the brand’s natural inspiration while appealing to tech-savvy users. The brand’s logomark, a simple silhouette of the Eastern White Cedar tree, is ideal for small spaces or as icons, ensuring strong brand recognition across all formats. The logo mark and the primary logo are paired to form secondary versions of the logo.
The color palette of green, black, and white emphasizes Cedar's natural theme, with green symbolizing its connection to nature. Orange was deliberately excluded to maintain a visually harmonious aesthetic. The brand's typography, Satoshi, was selected for its modern and sleek style, perfectly aligning with Cedar's identity. Additionally, a comprehensive brand guideline was developed to enable in-house employees to create consistent assets across all platforms.
The Cedar brand identity effectively bridges the gap between elegance and accessibility, embodying the dual personality of technology and warmth. The design process for Cedar’s logo and visual elements focused on creating a strong visual narrative, from the trunk of the primary logo to the branches of the brand’s variations. This versatile and memorable brand system has helped Cedar establish a cohesive and recognizable presence in the kitchen and home appliance market, building trust and recognition among its diverse audience.
I was tasked with designing the appliance manuals, ensuring they were user-friendly and aligned with Cedar's branding, providing customers with clear and aesthetically pleasing guides for their products.
